FG Expresses Optimism That Insurgency Will End Before 2015

Mike Omeri, the National Information Centre Coordinator on June 2, 2014, Wednesday, said that the current security challenges being experienced in the country would end before the 2015 general elections.
According to Punch, the Coordinator, who made this known in Abuja during a briefing on the security challenges facing the country, assured that all measures were being exploited by the government towards rescuing the kidnapped Chibok girls as well as to ensure peace across the country.
"We have not reached election period yet and all efforts now are essentially geared towards rescuing our Chibok girls and finding peace in the land. At the rate we are going, our challenge will be overcome before the elections," Omeri said

Omeri, who is also the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, NOA, revealed that he was very elated over the arrest of the alleged armourer of the Islamist sect, described it as a major boost to the war against insurgency as well as an effort to rescue the Chibok girls.
